What motivates you more, money or happiness?

The happiness of course, but unfortunately most of the happiness comes with the money and that's the harsh reality of every society.

Happiness especially now that I'm retired.

Happiness.  I almost died about 4 times during a ruptured appendix and subsequent complications about 26 years ago.  That experience changed me and my life for the better.  Happiness is basically a positive, optimistic outlook. I have that in spades now and it's a great way to live.  Money does not and has never motivated me.  I need enough to live and a little extra for the future. My life is simple and I don't want much except happiness and time with those I love.

Both actually.

I do what I want in my free time and don't concern myself with others think. I'm lucky in that my hobbies and interests are pretty inexpensive. However, I'm also a planner and saver because I want to be able to retire comfortably. In a way I've even turned that into a game; seeing how much I can say by such and such a date. 

Which brings me to my last point: Attitude. Some people are pessimistic and some are optimistic and whichever you are greatly affects your outlook. Again, I'm lucky in that I'm a pretty optimistic person. With a good attitude everything becomes easier to handle.

And here's the thing, I wasn't always this way. I reached a crisis point in my life 16 years ago. I had to make radical changes in my life as well as an attitude change. I told myself I was going to do the best with what I've got and ever since then every day has been a blessing and I have been an optimistic person. In short you control how you tackle the day. You can choose happiness if that's what you want.

Happiness in day to day life.

Happiness is getting what you want for the most part, money helps facilitate that, so its going to have to be money I'm afraid.

Money is happiness.. I don't want to sound materialistic but that's how this world works. 

Money. Because in America, 99% of the stuff you can do requires money.
