Cradle of Filth

I mean, that's so sinister and wicked. It sounds like an archaic expression or something for anything that's supposed to be glorious, but is in fact a cesspool. I could see like an ancient emperor or something describing a rival nation and their people as coming from a 'cradle of filth'. I dunno...I've always loved that name. The band? Eh, they're okay. I at least appreciate that they're British. American goth seems so insincere. 

Eisbrecher

German for 'icebreaker' (as in the ships that sail to the arctic and use their bows to crush through ice). I love ships, so that's right up my alley.

Nocturnus

Pavor Nocturnus is the Latin term for night terrors. PERFECT.

Savage Garden

I guess it comes from an Anne Rice book. Awesome name, and very darkly romantic.

Bathory

It obviously comes from Elizabeth Bathory, who is cool by herself. 

Fear Factory

Just a great name. The music sounds exactly like you'd imagine it would.

Lacrimosa

Latin for 'weeping' and the name of a hymn. Outstanding.

Chvrches

I have no idea why such a simple name is so effective, but I love it. 

Versailles

Simple, but so effective. 

Opeth

The name is okay, but the logo is the best part.
