Can I make nachos with lays potato chips (without tortilla chips)?

I'm really hungry and want some nachos, but i don't feel like heading down to publix at 10 am to get tostito chips or tortilla chips. Is there a way to make nachos using normal potato chips, like lays? Please and thank you.

    I think the potato chips are too thin and are just going to break when you start making nachos with them.

    My husband sprinkles shredded cheese on ripple potato chips and microwaves for a few seconds. He calls it "Idaho nachos." I don't like it much, but I don't like "Mexican nachos" much either. Some of our friends like it just fine.
