Sketchup 2008 - L shaped floor?
If I draw an L shaped floor using two squares it leaves a line in the middle. I then go around the L shape with the pencil tool. But when I delete the line the floor deletes as well. How do I resolve this?

your lines were not all flat on the same horizontal plane. if they are angled, they won't make a solid flat surface, and need that line, even if they are a hair off.
i run into this a lot, and it is best to remove lines ASAP to root this from happening before you get too far into drawing...

Read help. I've never used Sketchup but both your questions are ridiculously easy in Rhino 3D. In Rhino the command to erase lines using other lines as intersects is called "trim". Maybe yours is that. In any case, read help or search YouTube. Lots of this stuff on YouTube.
