It's a reflection of the corruption of the GOP.

Umm, hello? The Dems have made up heir minds about impeachment months ago. McConnell is just reiterating what common knowledge of where most of the Senate will come down on impeachment, especially after what the actual articles of impeachment turned out to be, in all their pathetic glory.

I'm wondering if all of the subpoenas for testimony and documentation will be blocked again. If so, then we are indeed in for another farce of a hearing... they should have gone to court to get some real evidence.

We know what they are sending over and it's crap. How they play it from there is going to be up to the White House.

They get a say because it's their defense.

You can talk about impartiality after watching the House Impeachment Hearings?

During the Clinton impeachment trial, Rep. Bob Barr (R-Georgia) received a smackdown from the Chief Justice for repeatedly saying that the Senators were "jurors" and needed to be "impartial."

Rehnquist was right, of course. The Senators are not the jury, they are the whole court. And they are still U.S. Senators with the obligation to act in the interests of their constituents and the country.

The Senate will not convict Trump because there is no crime to convict him of. The entire thing is a farce, and everybody other than the extreme left knows that it's a farce.
