At least learn the basics or you'll be paying others to help you with tasks because our current culture requires it.

In this day and age I'm going to say you at least need to be tech savvy. It's just the way society is now.

Not really. Tech is the future of every industry and the reason the boomers don't care is because they're not going to be around anymore by the time being technologically skilled is required instead of advised like it is right now.
