Can any of you think of any symbols that are misconstrued?

Such as the swastika, mudra for power, pyramids, pentagram, etc. Symbols which have neutral or positive meaning and connotation but are often misrepresented or misinterpreted to mean more sinister things.

I’m guilty of ignorantly judging all of these symbols based on the ways they were presented or talked about. Thankfully I’ve come around, seeking understanding.

Why do you think many people choose to view something in a negative light instead of seeing it for what it is? How do you suggest we change this?

Any symbol used by any religion is usually demonised by the next religion to come along.

For example the pentacle is always seen as a demonic symbol, but is actually a symbol of protection.

The serpent was an ancient symbol of knowledge but through the Bible it became a bad thing. Yet if you look at the medical symbol used today it is two serpents around a rod.

They are brainwashed through years of misinformation.

    Nothing can change it.
