In what context? What was the situation when he said this? You didn't say, and that statement could be taken different ways.

That all depends on his tone of voice. If he texted it, there's no way to know. It could be sarcastic - "I hope you're happy, because you made me miserable." Or it could be sincere and polite- "I hope you're happy and there are no hard feelings between us."

Truly a nice guy that is wishing you well in life.
Someone that hopes you choke on your own smugness having been wronged by you.
Would really depend upon the context prompting him to say that.
