Why do countries of the world spend trillions in trying to understand the Universe. When they should just ask people in the Bible Belt?

I think you're a little off on your numbers there pal.

Some people never grow up.  The toys they need to do this are insanely expensive and the information they discover has no practical use. No one is going to pay for it besides the hapless taxpayer, and all he'll ever get out of it is about 75% or astronomers will give an age to the universe and the other 25% will disagree so they can keep soaking taxpayers and patting themselves on the back. 

Indeed, a good question. The reason they do not do this as they need the money to keep the Arctic Wall defended and keep the truth of the flat Earth from everyone.

Ok, it's not trillions, right (for just us). Ok, sure, globally, all nations combined it is. We want to spend trillions though. But, It's enough for a lot of fun exploration, not to mention the progress in tech that comes out of that. Wow, did you know global GDP is like over 80 trillion now? Nice!

I love science, and I'm a Christian.  Chemistry and biology were my favorite subjects in school.  The best teacher I ever had was a grade school science teacher named Mr. Taylor.
