any ideas for a ghost?

You have a ghost who resembles President Lincoln or one of Washington Irving's tall, skinny Yankees.  [Or was the author of stories with tall, skinny Yankees Nathaniel Hawthorne?]  What does he do that makes him scary?  How is he dressed? Usually a ghost is portrayed with his shroud or his suit in tatters and hanging from his literally bony body.

The way you described him aroused my sympathy rather than created fear.  Poor man was lost without his wife, so he decided to join her in death.

Yes, well, thanks for the apology, at least. I felt *very* uncomfortable reading your request. Seeing something like "going on a old man" sends shivers down my spine. Awful. Just awful. And the lack of punctuation........ just........ no! Silly child!

I can't imagine his height or build would be remotely important, but if you think his slimness and tallness are essential to the story, please do go right ahead.

But so far I see no signs of a story. He lost his wife, he committed suicide. OK. Now what?
