What’s the main theme in the short story “Laura and the garden party”?

Redemption. When Laura first joins the Garden Party she looks forward to progressive political policies like subsidies for asparagus farmers and free compost bins for all householders, but she gradually begins to realise they're all in it for the money, like all politicians. Finally, she leaves them and joins the pro-Nuclear Power Movement where she meets her future husband, John Redemption, the owner of two nuclear-power plants.
