    there isn't much difference

However, capitalism produces more luxuries for the rich class, while in real socialism there are no classes.

Socialism wouldn't waste as much energy and resources on pointless competition or advertising as capitalism does

There's really very little difference, but it would be in the favour of the socialist society since in socialist societies workers are healthier, happier, under less stress.  Since their health insurance doesn't lock them into their jobs and are much more mobile, they tend to be happier in their work place.

Capitalism is much more productive because when a person/company can make a profit they tend to be more efficient.

They also tend to get rid of leadership that is not working out.

Socialism is less efficient since there is limited to no competition you do not need to make any extra effort to sell your product.

Under socialism manufacturing tends to be controlled by the state meaning the politicians or their cronies.

We all know just how honest and efficient they are.

    A good example is Venezuela.

They used to make vast sums of money selling oil but they nationalized the oil companies and ran off the people that knew how to run them.

The Venezuelan government put their cronies in power and now they are producing a lot less oil.

When a person lacks the incentive to work to their maximum ability they are less productive. In the early days of the pilgrims' arrival to the American continent, they tried to divide things based on each families' needs. When the younger men who worked much harder and had smaller families realized that they weren't benefiting as much as they felt they should the system failed They changed things to where each family got a piece of land to farm and the result was that there was an excess of crops that could be sold in England. Capitalism works. It's not a perfect system but socialism has never really worked especially in a country as large as the United States.

Hmm. Socialist Cuba vs the US. East Germany under the USSR vs West Germany. North Korea vs South Korea. Venezuela vs the US. That's a tough one.

They are apples and oranges.  Capitalism is a type of economy.  Socialism is a type of government.  The two are not comparable because they are entirely different things and are not mutually exclusive but can coexist, and in most socialist states, do coexist as most socialist states operate with a capitalist economy.  In fact, a certain degree of socialism is required for capitalism to thrive, because government-funded infrastructure, like roads and schools, is socialism.

Don't confuse socialism with communism.  Communism is a type of government and a type of economy.  Capitalism and communism are mutually exclusive because communism requires the elimination of capitalism as the government in the name of society and community nationalizes all private ownership, all business and all industry, and then runs them in order to create the resources society needs to survive and thrive and then distributes those resources to society.

Capitalism has advanced the lives of civilization more than anything else in human history.

Socialism is more productive because the government is regulating the economy and makes sure no mistakes happen(great sepression in capitslist us)
