Avoid any contact, if you can, and, if you can't, minimize it. Also, when forced to be with them, be passive, not active. Don't be rude, but don't give them credence. Those are just a few.

Avoid them as much as possible. I have an aunt who I despise for various reasons
including politics & don't even call on her birthday. Hopefully she's gotten the point.
