Is there a gravity force pushing down when a mass is in free fall relative to the earth showing that gravity is not a pull?

    No, there is NOT. You need to learn AND understand the difference between kinetic energy and potential energy, velocity and acceleration..

    yes, gravity is very far reaching, anything floating around would be getting some pull from Earth the Sun and other planets

    which is also why we have comets that can travel away from our solar system for tens even over hundred years before they come back, gravity pulls them back into the system
