Most Vietnam Vets are in their 70s now.  The US entered the Vietnam War in 1965.  If age 18 in 1965 they would now be 73ish. The war ended in 1975.  If someone was age 18 in 1975 and had just joined the military service they would now be 63 years old.  Most people who are 63 or older aren't looking for new jobs although, supposedly, military veterans are given preferences.

By now nearly all Vietnam vets would be retired. They were at least 18 in 1972 and that means they would be at least 66 by now.
