My 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe is not blowing cold air but it blows when I turn it on what could it be ? Could it just need Freon?

Most repair shops can recharge it.

There's probably a button you have to press to activate the AC. If you're activating it by pressing the button and setting the temperature to cold and it's not blowing cold air it could be a few things but it's most likely that the AC system is out of freon and it needs recharged. Most repair shops can recharge it.

No, it can't need Freon. If it needs refrigerant, the leak needs fixed. Freon is a brand name for a refrigerant that hasn't been used in new vehicles since the 1990s.

Look at the compressor to make sure its clutch cycles on and off. If it never cycles on, check the clutch fuse. Look in the sight glass to see if compressed freon is flowing while the AC is on. If the freon leaked out, the AC will need to be recharged, but have the leak fixed first.

All AC systems require servicing over time! YORUS has lost some of the FREON from the factory! Go to the dealership for this as other places use CHEAP PAG oil as a lubricant and unclean FREON most times! You MAY even have a leaking hose or two by now! ALWAYS power wash your engine bay to keep it CLEAN using GUNK orange original engine cleaner! YOur  engine will LOVE you for it! BYE NOW.

It's possible you just have a slow leak. try a can of AC Pro that has the sealer in it.

If it failed suddenly you may have a bad condenser from a rock puncturing it.
