I'm in need of an efficient printer/scanner. Do you have any recommendations?
I need something that can scan FAST as I have hundreds (probably thousands) of pages to scan. I can't use a printer/scanner with a feeder though as the things I'm scanning are stapled into booklets and can't be taken apart. I've used scanners in the past that take a good minute or two just to do ONE PAGE. It's insane. Are they all this slow, or are there any that can scan and immediately be saved to a laptop?

without taking apart the booklets it will not be fast...
MAYBE 1 page every 20 seconds for a flat bed scanner...
you want fast (can do all those pages in 30 minutes) you need a purpose built scanner which is very fast. but the pages cant be stapled.

There are fast scanners - e.g. high speed book scanners (Google it) that can scan a few hundred pages per minute. In that case, the problem would be that the image processing (and text recognition) on your laptop is somewhat unlikely to keep up...

all the home ones are this slow, yes. they physically move a long, slender scan head over the material to be scanned
