Don’t viruses go away? Will coronavirus go away too?

You know how people say oh there’s a stomach virus going around but somehow the virus fades away. I thought typically viruses die on they own 🥴 🤷🏽‍♀️ I know I’m going to get a bunch of you dumb ***!! Comments lol.  Will this naturally fade in time ??

The stomach virus is not a virus. It is gastroenteritis .. meaning an upset of the digestive system. Almost always caused by eating something that doesn't sit well with our body.

As for viruses, they don't usually go away. They may go dormant if everyone in the population has had it at some time and now has developed an immunity to it .. assuming the virus has not mutated so much that our body no longer recognizes it ... OR if everyone in the population has been vaccinated against it.

I heard an epidemiologist being interviewed on TV, and he said that there will probably be upsurges of contagion in every country for POSSIBLY as long as 2 years. But that eventually, it will die down and only affect very young children ,who have not been expose to it yet or have not yet been vaccinated.

This is not going to go away quickly. But yes, it should fade out, given enough time.

"go away"? Do you mean to ask if individual people recover? Or if this pandemic will end as a whole..? Both of these questions have the same answer; yes. 96% of people get better from this. And this pandemic will end after a few weeks, possibly returning in isolated incidents here and there as the months go on.

Some viruses go away but some don't, like HIV. Some viruses reoccur in small epidemics around the world, like Ebola or the flu. This one will go away, though. And it'll also likely reoccur here and there.

It will fade, like you said, the main worry is trying to help the people who can be harmed the worst by it at present.

eventually everyone will recover or die, as long as there are no new infections, it cannot be stopped while we are still failing to contain the virus. Especially because people can be infected for 14 days before symptoms even start appearing (and can still spread it during that time)
