Did you ever consider the "hidden" benefit of Robot malfunction ?
If Robots replaced people in the "work force" and caught a computer "VIRUS" causing them to malfunction , PEOPLE would have to leave their houses and GO BACK to WORK.! Ha .

They considered that but they don't care. The robots will be highly equipped with the latest and up to date gadgets. They will either fix it or buy another one.
Besides, it's no different than a person malfunctioning on the job by getting drunk or arguing with the customers.
