If I filed my taxes in 2019 does that means that I filed for the year of 2018? ?

If I filed my taxes in February 2019 does it mean that I filed for the year of 2018 or does it mean I would of had to file the actual year of 2018 to be considered that I filed for the year of 2018? Lol I’m so confused but with this stimulus bill I want to know if I’ll get a check

The return due by 4/15/19 was for 2018. The 2019 returns are being filed now and are due by 7/15/2020

Yes, that is what it means.

The return you file is ALWAYS for the prior calendar year. You file 2018 taxes in 2019, and 2019 taxes in 2020.

The so called stimulus isn't based on 2018.

Taxes that are due on April 15th are for the previous calendar year., So yes, they were 2018 taxes.

One of the two years is enough.

You file for the previous year.  In February of 2019, you don't have the information to file for that year as most hasn't happened.

What you filed this year in 2020 was for 2019. What you filed in early 2019 was your 2018 taxes. If you filed in either year you will be eligible. We never file taxes until the year is over...

Unless you filed very late, the taxes you did in 2019 would cover the income you earned in 2018.

In February of 2019 you likely filed your taxes for the year 2018 ... you definitely did not file for 2019 because 2019 was still in progress.
