Why do some Christians still insist that attending church during a pandemic is their right? ?

Answers: (1) They are selfish and don't care if they infect other people. They always blab about loving their fellow man, but when push comes to shove, they don't give a crap about anyone but themselves. SO hypocritical. (2) They think that their delusions take precedence over government directives. Sorry, but your perceived "rights" don't count right now. (3) They think that their fictitious god will protect them, which is a load of bullshit.

ANYONE who gathers in church should be fined and/or thrown in jail. End of discussion.

Update:

Fireball, you have me blocked, so I will respond here. You said it's none of my business??? Um...protecting others against this virus should be EVERYONE'S business. My god, you are such a stupid woman.

Jesus himself stated in the Bible that the Bible would eventually become outdated. Although I believe that Christianity had a divine origin, there are two aspects of Christianity that make it irrelevant today.

    1)  Most of Christianity today is actually composed of false beliefs. And has been for quite some time. Otherwise, there would have never been an Inquisition.

    2)  Trying to use the Bible as an answer for everything today is a bit like having a brand-new car in your driveway and insisting on using the owners manual for a model T Ford.

Not everything is outdated though. Am I not my brother's keeper? I could say something regarding how unbiblical, how unchristian some Christians truly are. But I guess I will let God be the ultimate judge….

Hebrews 10:24, 25; Acts 5:29; Matthew 24:13. It is because of your methods that you do not understand. When you decide to stop trying to elevate a human or humans and humble yourself, Jehovah will allow you to understand (Proverbs 3:5; 1 Corinthians 1:26-29; Romans 13:1). I'm sure you would like to  ignore my words, but it will not help you. You will receive absolutely no real benefit thinking you can go beyond Jehovah's will. Everything you do and can do, you were given basic permission to do. If Jehovah were to say you could no longer move the air around you, it would be just like that. Whether you like it or not you truly are at Jehovah's mercy.

Suit yourself of course.  BUT  "We ought to obey God rather than men."  Acts 5:29, by "Not forsaking the assembly, as the manner of some is."  Heb. 10:25.

Let me understand, my right to attend the church of my choice is subordinate to your right to keep me from doing so for whatever reason you choose?

In the law there is a concept called "assuming the risk." It means if you are aware of the risk of a behavior and do so anyway, you can't sue the cause. That's why if you put a gun to your head you can't sue Colt.

Same with church. If you are aware of the risk of catching Covid-19 in the mall or church, you can't sue the mall or church.

People have these "Commandments" and "Sacraments" and "requirements" and they have a hard time putting in a priority order. Seriously, they think going to church on Sunday is a bigger priority than protecting people from getting sick.

(Psalms 91:7-10) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

I am appalled that so many hand over their first amendment rights without so much as a question.  Dangerous days we are in. The government who is “protecting “ us, may end up doing us in.

Even the college kids at Spring Break went home and apologized a while back.. Believers are still spreading the disease….  Tragic how some people's beliefs blind them to reality.

@ blocking hunter,  the hateful ones are those who think they can do as they please because God... People are dying.

Because, now get this reasoning: because their god who CREATED this deadly virus, is now going to PROTECT them from it.

Gee, without evolution, and with no other supreme “creator” except for god,  I wonder where these viruses come from?
