What is this on my vintage marching band uniform?
Update:
I am trying to upload pics but the system isn't allowing it. There are 2 large hooks on the waist area, is this for some sort of belt? Also, why is there a lone, plain button only on the right shoulder? Did something attach to this? I have this 40 years and never knew.
