Trump WAS impeached by the House, but it  came to no avail. The impeachment charges were dismissed by the Senate, so naturally he remained in office.

Even if Trump had been removed from office and Pence had taken over, I doubt that Pence (or anybody else) could have done any better job than Trump has done.

Without a doubt.  After all, Pence is a mature adult.

Better job as in how? Trump's travel ban were said to be unnecessary and racist. The left managed to reduce the full measures Trump wanted to put in place. The revisionist history of the left now says they were to late in coming and that they weren't complete enough. Ignoring the fact that they were the ones who reduced them in the first place. Federal stockpiles were full, it was the state stocks that had not been maintained. Somehow that turned into Trumps fault.  Even with all that bitching and moaning about supply levels, it seems that the levels being shuffled around have met the demand. Making that entire story line, irrelevant.  It was the CDC not Trump who di not want to use the WHO recommended tests, stating they are not accurate enough. We are now seeing that  is creating issues in countries that have been using them, we are also seeing that the information and recommendations of the WHO, were not quite accurate. Why is another debate/question. End result, Trump going by what the CDC and his task force has recommended, has been proved to be the right course of action. The delay in testing, while many blame the feds or Trump for, was a manufacturing issue. The reagent used in the manufacturing of the first few batches, was bad/wrong/contaminated. Bottom line, didn't work. How is that Trumps fault?

I don't believe Pence to be a full blown narcissist like Trump, so he would, on some level, be capable of deferring to experts and being corrected when he's wrong.

Dr. Fauci has explain the science to someone else in the room as an indirect way of getting information to Trump because if he directly corrects or challenges Trump he's going to be fired. I don't think Pence would be that ridiculous.

But being less ridiculous than Trump would be a rather low bar to set.

Pence doesn't have the same fight as Trump. I don't know if he is strong enough to withstand the daily onslaught of negativity by the media. Pence also doesn't have Trump's AMAZING instincts, like Trump saying hydrochloloquine is effective against corona. And closing flights from China and Europe. Don't think Pence would have done it so soon. Pence is a politician, Trump is a businessman.

If Trump would have been impeached, Pence would have been removed as well as he took part in the attempted bribery.

Yes, Nancy Pelosi would have done 10 times better.

New York might not have had a bloodbath.
