The number one option is to find yourself a simple repetitive job where you work outdoors gathering produce like tomatoes pick a 5 gallon bucket of tomatoes go put it in the field box go pick another 5 gallon bucket. It doesn't take much mental capacity to do this. Over the course of 5 to 7 years I've doing this over and over and over again you will forget all the other nonsense cares that plague you your mind and your body will become strong from eating vegetables and drinking water instead of sodas. The best treatment for mental illness is a job picking produce in the field or stacking produce in a packing house.

It is the same option used to treat a serious medical infection that is spreading in someone who is too stupid to take the antibiotics.

    You're welcome.

Drugs are the way typical of MD psychiatrists. Therapy is the way typical of PhD psychologists and analysts. The third way is counseling done by licensed clinical social workers. They act as friends who give friendly advice.

    basic breakdown (general terms):

drugs treat symptoms, allowing short to mid term return to night normal

therapy is focused at understanding and trying to figure out how to deal with the core problem.

NOTABLY sometimes patient is too far gone to just go to therapy so drugs make sense in that regard but on its own. Therapy has thereby larger potential of helping fix the problem.

Source of this opinion: multi-decade dysthymia, agoraphobia that i have, i have some experience with both.
