Petrol, batteries will have to get better before I'd bother, they will get there but haven't yet.

I live far enough out of any urban center that an electric car would be pretty much useless. I also travel long distances so having to STOP every few hours to recharge would not be practical.

Battery cars have three main drawbacks: range, recharge time is way too long and premium is too high. that premium will be more apparent as tax credits expire.
