Did Yankees believe in what they fought and died for?

    Some did some did not. Many were draftees who would rather have stayed home and not gotten involved in Mr. Lincoln's war. I was drafted into the Vietnam war, and I didn't believe in it. However once I got into combat zones over there, it was quickly kill or die, regardless of my opinions on the war.

    Until D Day yes but when they saw Nazis were driven to Normandy in Gm Ford and Chrysler trucks and still owned by the American Companies

    they Realised they were Just Cannon fodder for Corporate USA 

    the Ford factory captured by US troops in 1945 was still producing trucks

    Which Yankees? Do you mean those that fought in the American Civil War or those that fought in World war I or World War Ii?
