Atheists: Do you think most Christians are hypocritical?

I do. One recent example: A "Christian" called someone a "filthy Hindu."

How do you know if the Hindu had been bathing or not? Most of them don't.

Some claiming to be Christians certainly do treat people on here in a hateful and unChristian manner. I repeat, "claiming to be" Christians.

And A "Christian" is most of us?  Where are your powers of critical thinking?

Most atheists do not think as you do.  Most are capable of critical thinking.

Christians are not hypocritical, they are simply narrow-minded.

They believe everyone that is not a Christian is evil and therefore not worthy of their respect.

A billion people consider themselves christian or aligned to the christian faith in this world --- and you produce ONE example of a christian calling someone a filthy Hindu?

Someone on the radio today was commenting on privacy on the internet. They said people they spoke to at lectures they gave said they had no problem with their governments watching what they looked at on the internet. He then gave these people his email address, and asked that they send him their email passwords, and other passwords for the websites they used. He never got a reply. What in saying is, is there anyone out there who doesn't commit what they call a sin?

I don’t think it’s fair to label a whole population.  Do I think there are many inconsistencies from what is taught in Christianity and how many Christians behave?  yes.  Probably more than I’d like.  I normally don’t get into religious  discussions with them if I can help it.

Christianity in the US is the ultimate state of "Don't do what I do, do what I say".

    If I recall the saying:

"Christianity is asking forgiveness on Saturday for what you did on Friday and what you will do again on Monday".

  • I think most *people* are hypocrites. Being hypocritical is the default state unless you train yourself to be more mindful.
