Bible Readers: Why are Adam and Eve seen as the first humans? and what was their original purpose?

Christians would say that you interpreted Genesis incorrectly. Genesis 1 gives an overview of creation. Genesis 2 just provides additional details to the creation story.

Adam and Eve are believed to be the first humans. There were no humans before them. So when God creates humans in 1:27 and tells them to be fruitful, God is speaking to Adam and Eve. In Genesis 2:7 God creates man from the dust of the ground and this is believed to occur in Day 6 of creation (Genesis 1:26). 

There are some Christians who believe that Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 are two separate creation accounts, from two separate authors, and the authors are simply recounting creation stories that were already popular at that time. 

Quoting out of context is a logical fallacy... Text without context is nothing more than a pretext. Another word for it you will probably be more familiar with is 'cherry picking. 

Do you always misrepresent truth with opinion? What is so difficult for everyone to understand “In the beginning”? There were no people before the “beginning”, nothing had been created. Common sense rules this out. Unless you’re playing pretend.

Your errors that result from a philosophical study of theological topics apart from an exegesis of Scripture more clearly demonstrates your bias rather than knowledge. You need a lesson in writing style to understand plain English. Go back to grammar school. Repetition in writing is a literary device to make an idea more clear or memorable. Genesis 2 is simply an alliteration of the narrative of creation in Genesis 1.

Atheists prefer to believe that something in our commonly evolved psyche forces each each of us to invent some imaginary legend with no basis in real history. Instead of scholarship, this is "willful ignorance"; delusional, contradictory, in constant error and need of defending, yet atheism is indefensible. 

The truth and God's Word are simply literal reality, like the nose on your face, He designed you and knows you better than you. 

The difficulty with Genesis 2:19 often stems from the use of the word “formed” from the King James version.

Genesis 2 does not suggest a chronology. That is why the NIV suggests using the style “the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the fields.” Therefore, the animals being brought to Adam had already been made and were not being brought to him immediately after their creation. Instead of “God formed” (KJV), the NIV reads “the Lord God had formed”.

Tyndale’s translation predates the KJV, but both are correct on this verse because the verb in the sentence can be translated as pluperfect rather than perfect tense. The pluperfect tense can be considered as the past of the past—that is to say, in a narration set in the past, the event to which the narration refers is already further in the past. Once the pluperfect is taken into account, the perceived contradiction completely disappears.

You're making no sense.   Read Genesis again.

God only created Adam and Eve. (Genesis 2:7-8) is only a continuation of the same story (Genesis 1:26-27). When God created man, He created mankind, He created him male and female He created them. So Adam was male and the essences of the female was also in Adam. 

Once Adam realized that there was something missing in his life. (Genesis 2:18-23) God then decided to bring out the woman and present her to Adam. So though we all now come from the female, the female originally came from the male. and they both, mankind came from God.

I believe God did it that way to illustrate first that man/the male needs woman/the female, and that the man/male is the head. (I didn't read that in the Bible, it's just what I surmise)

Adam and Eve were God's first human creations. That's what the Bible states clearly. It is clearly understood from the text that there were no other human extant at the time.

Gen 2:5  And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

Evolution of man began millions of years before Adam and Eve (NEPHILIM Sons of God).

1. Man was "MADE(evolved), not in God's image, millions of years ago.

2. Adam and Eve were "CREATED(not made) in God's image about eleven thousand years ago.

(Gen. 1:26) Thousands of years ago God decided "let us(God & Sons) MAKE man in our image" (teach man Gospel)

(Gen. 1:27) So GOD(not us) CREATED Adam and Eve in His image - NEPHILIM Sons of God.

Humans weren't already present

Adam & Eve were single-celled animals living in a pool of water. The pool was called the Garden of Eden.
