It has been observed that a certain star (S2) in the Sagittarius A* (meaning in the direction of the constellation Sagittarius) is orbiting a supermassive black hole. If the period of S2 is 16year and the distance between the two is 1.79e13m. What is the mass of this black hole?

    16 years≈ 5.05*10^8 seconds

    v= 2π*1.79*10^13 / 5.05*10^8= 2.23*10^5 m/s

    G= 6.67*10^-11 N*m²/kg²

    GM/r²= v²/r

    M= v²*r/G= 1.33*10^34 kg
