It apparently isn't a virus that has jumped species as we were first told by China. It was created in a laboratory and one of the lab technicians was infected by it but was asymptomatic, in other words, they were spreading something that they didn't know they had., so cats getting it from eating bats ( which I highly doubt is actually true) is not something that is likely to happen.
