the only natural check that works is people being smart enough to not make too many babies. It's what happens when GIRLS get enough education to see career-options outside motherhood.

How is it a check?  It's only killing a very tiny percentage of the population, and there is likely to be a resulting huge baby boom due to bored people copulating like rabbits during the lockdown.
