During/Over?

During this pandemic.

Over this pandemic.

I know those are the same,and especially foreigners don't need to care a lot.

But, if native speakers try to be good English speakers, how do you use differently?

    Either is fine depending on the meaning: the difference would be like this:

    He fell ill during this pandemic - an event happening at some point

    His shop remained closed over this pandemic - a concurrent, ongoing event.
