Why do some people get mad at others not wearing a mask, after rules are lifted not requiring one?

You always see people saying and shaming others for not wearing their masks, but take no personal responsibility to keep their own person safe, avoiding people without masks, avoiding situations and locations like high popilus areas like grocery stores and now public venues.

some people just enjoy telling others what to do....or making themselves feel superior with superficial acts...

the day after Los Angeles announced "stay at home" I was taking my morning walk and a woman walking the other direction on the sidewalk shouted "you don't understand a THING about social distancing!" through her mask at me...

...the fact that, if it was so important to her, she had plenty of room to move a few feet to the side to keep me out of her "bubble" was obviously immaterial.... she clearly was more concerned with "putting me in my place" than she was with her health..

but I've noticed it's beginning to work in the other direction as well... As the weather has been improving and people are getting more restless, I've noticed a new behavior that I've called "social flaunting"..

...maybe you've seen it too:  groups of people on their balconies or in their living rooms with the windows wide open laughing and talking loudly....letting the world know what a great time their having... or groups of hikers and cyclists in their designer masks, parading themselves for the world to see...

I think people wear masks because they either don’t want to catch it or spread it. I am grateful for them caring about other Americans.

Some are worried about safety, but probably more of them just like feeling better than others and shaming people about things.
