I don’t believe in god. Is there anyone who used to but not now?

I am not here to disrespect believers. What I want here is not argument. I want to respect our different beliefs and hear your thoughts.

I never believed in God. Nature is powerful, the universe is immense, the earth is great. I believe and experience that there’s something more powerful thing more than human. But God? If we say god is something that created this world, yes I believe there is god. Idk. if we describe god having human body like those paintings in church,I do not believe in god.

I feel silly or awkward when someone says “god talked to me” like whatever you came up with, the messages, the love, the alerts, everything is from your inner self. The messages you say you got from god are from yourself. The love you feel is the love from yourself, you appreciate those and it’s all you. You are doing it all amazing things for yourself. At least that’s what I believe.

So many people believe in god. i think having something to believe is a good thing.

But sometimes they push me to believe the god whatever they believe in. When I am trying to focus on myself, figure out things, people tells me to believe in god, that i am stuck because I don’t believe in god. and that’s one of the reasons I don’t believe it.

I wanna hear thoughts about it from the people who used to believe in god but not anymore or shifted into believe in something else.   I prefer hearing atheists than people who only believe in god and never experienced being atheist.  No disrespect.

Update:

I have had enough pushes or negativity from believers. I want atheists to answer my question oh man

Regardless of what we think, you must always be true to yourself.

< If we say god is something that created this world, yes I believe there is god. >

That is the most basic place to start.

< If we describe god having human body like those paintings in church,I do not believe in god. >

God is in His essence Spirit, so again you are right about God.

But, yes, we humans do often describe and depict God as human; but that is not a correct understanding.

I too view with suspicion people who say that God has "spoke" to them.

Forgive me for chiming in, but I was an agnostic (a functional atheist) for my first 33 years.  At a point I came to understand that non-theism has /a lot/ of existential problems.  To be brief, it is ultimately futile.

God gives everything in existence, and existence itself, an ontological basis.

Why is there anything instead of nothing?

    What is person-hood based on?

How can deterministic processes alone (physics and chemistry) produce reason, intentionality, choice, morality, justice, and yes - love?

    They cannot.

Thus non-theism undermines any and all experiential coherency in favor of "what seems right" or "feels right or good".

It seems to me that you already have a fledgling understanding of God, which you might consider pursuing instead of tossing it aside for groundless subjectivity.

I believe God respects your decision not to believe he exists or that he is offering eternal life to you by believing in his only begotten Son Jesus Christ.

It is a free will choice God has given you.

Is not that I don't believe, but everything about it is troubling to the mind. To believe in something that isn't tangible, is close to insanity. Imagine thinking that your soul is being tormented right now by invisible forces. It sounds absurd. It's not my fault for being indifferent. That just how we operate, rationally. Things that don't make sense are not worth the inconvenience.

    -  God's human expression was in his Son, Jesus Christ.

    -  You may be punished after being judged unworthy, due to this staunch entitlement of yourself.  You should praise the people trying to convert you to Christianity.  It isn't God who needs you, it is you who needs Him.  We are attempting to convert new believers while simultaneously attempting to turn away those whom are unable to accept God's grace.  Repent, or you go to hell.

    -  You, wishing to be drawn towards darkness, will only ruin your life.  Atheists are more depressed, more suicidal, have fewer children, are more likely to abuse drugs, and are less attractive than their pious counterparts.  Not that going atheistic would be much more than a walk across the street for yourself, by the sound of it, but your life may permanently change in many ways you would have otherwise consciously regretted.

There's two kinds of 'atheists' as christians call them. Those who get mad, sad, emotional at their god, for whatever reason (maybe he called them abominations, idk), and claim to stop believing. The problem, is that they've been indoctrinated into this kind of thinking since before they could walk, and MANY of these kinds of 'atheists' end up going back to the delusion once they get over themselves.

The other kinds of atheists are typically the people who take in knowledge from multiple sources, usually science and other religions, and conclude that all gods are complete and total nonsense in the first place. This becomes easier to accept the more you learn about existence, and how very badly 'designed' it is. Idiots see complexity, and cannot understand how it came to be, because they cannot comprehend the amounts of time things like scientific theories say they needed, to become what they are. You can deify nature if you like, but there's nothing credible to suggest it has a consciousness, as we would define it.

It wasn't too terribly long ago that these people believed, genuinely, that the planet was a pancake covered by a sphere of water. If your want to understand what created the earth, I recommend science. As much science as you can find. From as many CREDIBLE sources as possible. Remember, anyone using it to push a religion, is typically not credible, and should always been double checked. Which the basic methods require you to do anyway.

These days, literally any idiot can buy a degree. Always check your sources on your search for information.

I am 100% atheist.  I do not believe the universe was created by anything than nature itself.  GUS

Yes, I was raised/indoctrinated into Christianity, but realized it and all religions were nonsense at age 13 or so.
