Outboard Motor Starting trouble?

I have a 1990 Johnson got 150 outboard. Love the damn thing. Once I get it running for the day it runs like it’s brand new. It never stalls it turns on right away. The issue is if it sits for a few days. Sometimes it’ll take 30 plus tries to start the motor. Starting fluid. Choke fast idle all that and finally it’ll pull through. Once that happens I’ll let it run for a few minutes turn it off, and then back on again in one try?

So why after it sits for a few days or even sometimes ONE DAY does it go temperamental on me?

Update:

Ignore the question mark after “one try”

This sounds like your problem (starting solenoid).

Check spark with a spark tester and check fuel quality.  Fuel could be contaminated.
