How to sell a gun privately in Virginia?
Hello,
My nephew wants to buy my gun here in Virginia. It is a hand gun fully registered in my name. He was in the military, has never had a felony. And I do trust him.
What is the best way for me to sell him this gun so that it is out of my name and into his, just incase he decides to sell it years from now. How what I go about covering myself?..

The gun IS NOT 'fully registered' in ANYONE'S name. Virginia, like nearly all US states DOES NOT HAVE gun registration.
Legally, the gun IS NOT in ANYONE'S name. If it makes you feel better, you can write up a contract of sale.

Best would be for the two of you to go to any gun store and have them record the sale so it can be reported to ATF. All or nearly all gun stores will do that for a small fee.
