So Australian reporter and film crew are assaulted by US police and the excuse given by the WH is that the police had every right to defend?

Here's a SILLY question. It's 26 minutes to curfew and nobody is leaving the area. Why, then, are they so surprised at the actions of the Police?

By defending themselves the WH means keeping the public from being exposed to the truth.

My guess would be that the crew was told to move out of the way and failed to do so.
