How is it that a certain user can say god gave gifts to everyone and that's why there were sorcerers, and then say you get nothing?
until you are quickened back to life by HS baptism? Which is it, user? Does god give to everyone and some use the gifts for evil, or does god save the gifts for those who are HS baptized? It can't be both.
My notifications show 5 answers, but I can only read three. Is someone deleting answers to my question? That would be wrong as I would like to see what anyone who answers has to say.
I just read liz's answer in my notifications. I would like to thank you for your answer. It was very thoughtful. I must say I agree with that completely. Thank you again, and it's a shame it has disappeared from my answers here.
To whom ever deleted the answers, shame on you. You shouldn't delete answers from someone else's questions.

I would think you'd need the magic water to have access to the good stuff. Isn't that how the stories work?

"Wherefore He said, When He ascended upon high He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men" (Ephesians 4:8).
"But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery..." (Acts 8:9).
"And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered money.
Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the Gift of God may be purchased with money.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of GOD" (Acts 8:18-21).
Consequently using "gifts" that God gives all men is nothing when not used to "give God the glory" (Isaiah 43:7) with a "heart that is not right in the sight of God" (Acts 8:21) which includes "sorcery" (Acts 8:9).
"Repent therefore of this question, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee" (Acts 8:22).
