Do crowd control devices exist (ADS) ?

I read that these ultra sonic microwave weapons can disperse crowds because it makes their skin feel like its on fire and causes people to flee. If they are real have they ever been used and why don't we use it on the anarchies and rioters?

Yes.The Active Denial System (ADS) is a less than lethal weapon, directed-energy weapon developed by the U.S. military, designed for area denial, perimeter security and crowd control. Informally, the weapon is also called the heat ray since it works by heating the surface of targets, such as the skin of targeted human subjects.

    It must have been.
