Why does Washington’s governor and Seattle’s mayor allow gangs to control a several block area if Seattle?

After the governor sent the national guard to dispel some george floyd riots/protests though it would mostly for looting. Inslee along with his assistants decided it would be better to put it off since most of the looting went away after 2 weeks.

However when it come to gangs in seattle, well, washington state is democratic party unlike say texas state which is conservative republican party. seattle is one of the more democratic party regions of the state.

They consider it's better than trying to forcibly clear them out.  I'd point out that while some conservatives are outraged by this they had very different reactions when the occupiers were people whose politics they agreed with.  A few years ago a group of right wing protestors occupied a federal wildlife refuge for something like a month. Conservatives were either supportive or indifferent to this "standoff" which the authorities allowed to go on until the right wing protesters got tired and left.

Just vote Republican.  

It's called trying to save your career. Inslee and Durkan know this'll blow over eventually and they're hoping that by playing along until the anarchists starve themselves out of "CHAZ" they can still come off as having been supportive (for that ever important AntiFa vote). 

They don't.  It's not gangs.

Because Seattle is extremely liberal and dominates Washington politics. 

Sounds like they support it and maybe even helped orchestrate it. They ordered the police out.  When the mayor was asked how long it would last, she smiled and said it was the summer of Love.  ???   I say let  them stay. It’s a “festive” atmosphere now with businesses willingly or unwillingly providing electricity, water, and  food.  The park looks like a homeless camp with garbage strewn about.   Ok, that was for a week. But what is it going to be like in a month or two??  When businesses can’t provide for them? Liberals want to live this way,  so let’s let it play out. Businesses and  People living in liberal cities need to decide if this is the lifestyle they want.
