When removing cheesecake from springform pan if using cake board or paper, how do you remove the board/paper without damaging cake?

It's tricky. First thing I do is line my springform pan with one giant sheet of parchment paper that comes up the sides 1-2 inches extra, butter both sides. Toast your crumb crust so it's solid. After it's baked and chilled overnight (leave it in the pan), you should be able to slide it onto a cake board with a long offset spatula. Just kind of nudge it and use the force of gravity so you aren't touching it too much.
It is possible to flip a cheesecake upside down on two cake board and reposition it, but it's tricky. The cheesecake MUST be baked and chilled overnight first. Put parchment on the cake boards so it doesn't stick. Then you can flip it like you would a cake. Just be careful.

You can slide the cheesecake off the bottom of the springform pan. If you have used a piece of parchment paper slide a spatula under the paper and it should come off easily.
Make sure the cake is chilled completely, this will ensure that the crust will not crumble when you transfer it.
I use a pan that looks like a regular cake pan with a removable bottom and I do the same thing. Once you have the spatula under the cheesecake slip it onto either the serving plate of if you are using a cardboard round place it on the cardboard. The cake will come off the cardboard easily when you serve it.
