If I got a red light ticket in Florida, would there be any penalty on my insurance ?
I got a notice in the mail for a red light violation. I was wondering if there would be any penalty on my insurance even if I get a traffic lawyer. Should I get a lawyer or would it even matter? I already know that I won't get any points on my license.

You could get a lawyer to dispute the ticket but if you fail, you will get 4 points. You can avoid the points if you pledge to get driver training, but can't avoid the ticket from effecting your auto insurance the next time premiums are due because the ticket will exist on your driving record.

I believe with a red light camera there are no points on your license. After all they know your car ran the light but they don't' know who was driving. The ticket is mailed to the registered owner no matter who drove the car. I believe if you just pay the ticket it all goes away and the insurance doesn't change. If you were driving don't deny it because they could spend a gazillion dollars and prove it was you and that's contempt of court. If you were not driving, just tell them it wasn't you and say nothing else. The can't make you name names. And if it was you and you pay, don't say guilty. Just send them the money with no admission of guilt. Leave the box unchecked.
