Is it insensitive or inappropriate for a white person to wear a kimono?

I adore it but I want to make sure it's not insensitive or stealing a culture, you know? Like I understand it's alright for cosplay and such but what about on a standard occasion? I found this line of super casual kimono that are fantastic, but I don't wanna accidentally cross any lines.

Almost the whole world dresses as the white Americans, for example: blue jeans and t-shirts, suits and ties, dresses, bikinis.  All these fashions originated from the Western white cultures.  So, i don't think anyone will throw you in jail for wearing a kimono.

Not any more than a Japanese person wearing a business suit, driving an automobile, or otherwise appropriating white Western culture.
