Motorways are safer than A roads.

If you're really nervous then take a short test drive with an experienced driver before risking it with your kids and partner. The trickiest bits are entering the motorway and changing lanes, but if you've ever driven on a dual carriageway you should be able to cope just fine. Read your Highway Code first so you know what different rules apply to motorways.

Motorways are just roads where everybody is driving in the same direction. Don't worry about it.

It's a road, like any other road. It just happens to have a higher speed limit. Read the Highway Code on lane discipline first.
