There is this problem withTurkih Cyprus and Greek Cyprus united Europe did not let it be turkish Cyprus Europe United.?

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is now the de facto state to the north of the UN buffer zone (or ‘Green Line‘ as it is known). Turkey is the only country to recognise the state, whilst the rest of the international community see’s North Cyprus as part of the Republic of Cyprus and Turkey’s continued military presence as an illegal occupation......... as this has been like this for 46yrs and nothing has changed Turkey ( which is not a European country) and Greece will have to resolve their long standing military issues

There are litmus tests to be admitted to the EU. These involve things like human rights, etc. Greek Cyprus has laws akin to that of Greece, so it qualified. Turkish Cyprus has laws that conform to those of Turkey, which is why it doesn't qualify. Turkey was close to being admitted to the EU until it elected Erdogan with his theocratic leanings, virginity tests for female students and his purging of political opponents.
