How much digging is required for Dahlia Flowers?

    You don't put them on top of the ground and they dig their own hole.  You dig a hole twice as deep as the bulb is high.

    Only you know what size bulb you bought.

    Technically you just need to dig enough to put them 6 to 8 inches deep and about the same wide.  That said, if your soil isn't the best then you may want to amend the entire area.  

    Likewise, you can grow them in pots.
