What is the least toxic 'non-stick' pan you can buy?

I use my stainless steel pot for all my cooking, but there are certain things that can't be cooked (even with oil!) without sticking to the pot. I need at least one non-stick pan for those types of meals, but I've heard that pretty much all of them are toxic. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you!

Ceramic is generally a lot safer than Teflon nonstick pans. A cast iron skillet is also naturally nonstick, but it's not quite the same as ceramic or teflon. There are special ways you have to clean cast iron to avoid rusting and things. I would go for ceramic

any of the non stick pans made in the past few years are better than older ones.

    Just follow the "rules"

    No real high heat

Do not heat the pan empty

No metal utensils, no matter what the advertisements say

    No harsh scrubbing

And my rule..do not spend a lot of money because as soon as they become damaged toss them out.

stainless steel seems to do that. I prefer cast aluminum kettles. I have several which are very old: got them from my husbands grandmother before she passed away at age 100...if you heat them, add the oil and then heat to sizzling and then brown my food, I don't have an issue. I simply don't care for stainless steel pots or fry pans. I use all either cast aluminum or cast iron. the big pots in restaurants are generally cast aluminum too.

Teflon is fine if  you don't overheat it.T-fal makes good quality pans and reasonable prices. Toss them when they start to show wear or flaking - but if taken care of (using the right tools with them) that could be a decade or more of use.

I keep seeing a TV ad for a copper based fry Pan. idk if it is a good as advertised, but maybe they also make a copper pot.

Ceramic, teflon, iron skillets, none of them are 'toxic' IF you take care of them. I have many pots and pans, yet only One teflon pan. And i consider it a 'throwaway pan', in that i use it till it starts to pit and throw it away and buy a new one. But i also abuse the crap out of it. The rest of my pans i take good care of, especially my cast iron wok and iron skillet. And both of those are now non-stick.
