Sports: Do you feel that piped in crowd noise will satisfy the average fan?

It will be noticable if you watch the action on TV, but if you're just listening it won't be. German soccer is doing this and it's fine.

I don't give a F about "the average fan."  The total spectators for every sport I've ever played almost certainly is less than 20,000.  I've never cared about that in the least when I play, & don't care about it when I watch.  If some fool can't find interest in the event unless some horde of gap-toothed mouth-breathers is there to make noise, then I submit that they may have a psychological disorder.      

It is better than complete silence...

The average fan doesn't have a choice. It works in soccer, so it will have to work with football, baseball, basketball, and Cornhole. 

If you're a cornhole lover, and I bet you're good at finding the cornhole, give me a thumbs down. 

As sad as it is it's going down well with fans, so they are telling me.
