Is it true that it is common to see people in Germany completely naked in public parks and other public areas? I live in the U. S.?

I live in the United States. A man named Rick Steves has a TV show called "Travels Through Europe." On his episodes about Germany, he said that it is common to see people in Germany going completely naked in public parks and other public areas. Is this your  experience?  I'm especially interested if you live in Germany.

Few years ago, l was at a lake near Munich. People were topless and nude, so l took a dip in the raw. When in Rome...

Also, a friend from Vienna was with me. His 4 y.o. daughter needed to "go", so he made a "bridge" with his arms, upon which she sat and drained her burden. I mentioned that THAT would never be done in USA (as a difference of socirty- NOT condemning the practice) he retorted "you let your dogs "go" in the park, on the street, BUT NOT YOUR CHILD?" implying we allow dogs relief, but make our children suffer. PERSPECTIVE!

When I visited Berlin in April 2019 I did not see any naked people anywhere.  It was lovely weather, possibly still too early in the year for nudity.

I’ve visited Germany and can confirm they are not as hung up about nudity as Americans.  Some parks see nude sunbathers and many spa resorts have clothing optional sections.  Why wear a swimsuit in a Sauna?
