15 trying to loose weight?
hi I’m a 15 year old female trying to loose weight. I’m going on holiday in 3 weeks I know it’s unrealistic that I’ll loose loads but I want to do all I can. I’ve been working out and having about 1200 calories a day for the past 4 days however yesterday I slipped up and probably had 2000 :(. Any tips? Also are them healthy fruity snacks that say they’re one of your five a day just as good as regular fruit?
By the way I’m about 8 stone 9, I’m 5ft 3

The word is "lose" (loose means not tight).
.
Make a lifestyle change. 80% of fat loss is about what you eat, so that’s more important than exercise. Any "diet" you go on may help you lose some weight but you'll tend to gain it back if you go back to your previous ways. Unhealthy diets also can cause weight loss of tissue other than fat (such as muscle, especially if your calorie intake is too low). Use a calculator like this one https://www.freedieting.com/calorie-calculator to determine about what your calorie intake should be. You can lose UP TO 3 lbs per week in a healthy manner, but 1 - 2 lbs is much more doable and easier to maintain long term.
.
Eat a healthy well-balanced diet at least 80% of the time...keep junk food, fast food, sweets, sodas, etc to a bare minimum (the occasional treat if you feel the need). Avoid as much processed food as you can. Focus on lean protein, fruits and veggies, complex carbs, healthy fats and and plenty of water. Keep your calories at a healthy level when working to lose fat. Cardio exercise is ideal for burning some extra calories. If you don't have an exercise program you want to use, youtube has TONS of fitness videos you can check out, not to mention just getting outdoors and going for a walk, run, or bike ride.
.
When you reach your goal, simply modify your calorie intake and/or exercise to allow you to maintain your weight instead of continuing to lose.

How to lose weight has been asked/answered here in various ways, literally THOUSANDS of times. That's why there's a search feature at the top of the page. There should be no need for anyone to type another answer to that question, because all the information is already available, if you just do a quick search.
Good luck!

First, the best thing you can really do for yourself is make smaller, long-term improvements to your food choices and decrease the calories and portion sizes. This won't make a huge difference for your August holiday, but it will provide the basis for you to improve your health and achieve & maintain a healthy body weight.
Fruit and "fruity snacks" are really high is sugar. Sugar requires insulin to be used by your cells as fuel. Insulin is a hormone your body produces that take sugar to your cells and also turns off your ability to burn stored fat. If you eat fruit or other carbohydrates like bread, cereal, pasta, rice, potatoes, your body can't burn stored fat until your body has used up the calories you just ate. As a result, eating a lot of carbs and or snacking (eating frequently) will make it harder for you to lose fat. So, try some hot or ice herbal tea with stevia to sweeten. This can be a great way to enjoy something "fruity" without adding calories or carbs.
If you feel you are starving on 1200 calories, I would encourage you to do a couple of things:
1. Cut the grains and processed foods and replace those calories with more veg and also good fat from things like olive oil in a dressing or avocado or walnuts or salmon.
2. Don't snack. Eat 3 meals a day and don't consume calories between those meals.
3. Eat more of your calories earlier in the day. Don't starve yourself and then break down and eat too much or eat a huge dinner. Get your calories at breakfast and lunch, and make dinner smaller.
4. Drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep too.
Also, remember that your beauty and your value are not based on your weight or clothing size.
